Please allow me to introduce myself to voters in the City of Ortonville. I am a Candidate for City Council. Please take a moment to read about me here and to read about what I sincerely hope to accomplish as your City Councilwoman if you elect me.

Family Life:

I have lived here now for a little over a year. I am married to a wonderful husband, Mickey. We have three teenagers that live here with us; Ashley is a junior this year, Jenna is a freshman and Travis is starting seventh grade. We also have a daughter, Missi. Missi and her husband Derek live in Sioux City, IA and have blessed us with an 8 year old grandson, Tyler and a 5 year old granddaughter, Rilee. We have a son, Mark that lives with his wife, Vanessa in New York. They also have blessed us with a grandson, Carter who is 5 and a granddaughter, Madison who is 2.

My family is very important to me and my goal is to make their lives more fulfilling every day.

What brought us to Ortonville?

My husband took ill at a young age of 52. At the time his health problems started, we were successful business owners of a Country Bar/ Restaurant in Sioux City, IA. We soon realized that he needed to retire and learn to relax or he would not be with us much longer. To make a long story short, I have many family members in the Ortonville area and I knew that it was a much calmer pace than what we were used to. We closed the business, and moved here.

What can I offer the town of Ortonville?

I will be perfectly honest with you and say I have no idea. I do know that I understand what makes community members love living here and I also see areas that can improve what our town offers.

The population of Ortonville has been on a decline for twenty plus years and there are things that need to be done to address that issue.

I have been a business owner, a licensed Realtor, and love to interact with people. I have a lot at stake personally in making Ortonville feel like home. With a retired husband and three kids in school here, I want life to be enjoyable for all of us.

If elected to city council, I want to make a difference. I look forward to meeting more members of the community and hearing what they are concerned about and what they like about Ortonville.
